The John Moyle Field Day is Australia's national field day competition and we work a 24 hour, all bands, phone only team station under the call VK3JNH.
Gear includes a TS2000x, FT100D, 80AH deep-cycle lead-acid batteries and solar panels.
Antennas include multiband dipoles for HF and a combination of beams and vertical antennas for VHF and up. We avoid rotators in order to limit power use. This keeps the system simple- hand turning works just fine!

See the accompanying photos for a look at the basics of the fully self-contained solar powered station which covers 160m through to 23 cm. All gear packs into the 4WD and can go anywhere to operate for an indefinite period.
